As a complementary developer for penetrant inspections, ZP-5B forms an opaque white coating that makes a contrasting background for indications. This white powder developer is mixed with water for use and disperses quickly to form an opaque white suspension, but must be continually agitated during use to ensure uniformity of mix as developer will settle out on standing.
ZP-5B can be used to enhance fluorescent indications during FPI Type 1 testing or used at higher concentrations to form an opaque white background for visible / color-contrast Type 2 dye penetrant inspections.
ZP-5B is listed on the QPL SAE AMS 2644 Qualified Product List.
